Gladys R. Triplett

Gladys Romedy Triplett, 90, of Louisville, MS, entered glory on December 29, 2018. Gladys Louise Romedy, daughter of Thomas H. and Mattie Roberta Kennedy Romedy, was born on January 16, 1928, the youngest of five children. She grew up in the High Point community of Winston County and graduated from Ford School. Gladys married Moses William Triplett on December 23, 1948. They had three children Mike (Betty) of Louisville, Greg (Mary) of Watkinsville, GA, and Libby (Tim) Murr of Gulfport, MS. Gladys and Moses were members of First Presbyterian Church of Louisville for 64 years where she was active in various women’s ministries including circles, delivering sermon tapes to shut-ins, and meals for those in need. They were a very hospitable couple hosting ministers, missionaries, congressmen, bank directors, salesmen and many others around their table or overnight. She was a faithful servant to her Lord and His Church, but her greatest joy was raising her family and loving them. Gladys was an active member of the Nanih Waiya Chapter of the DAR for many years and active in many community affairs such as March of Dimes, Brownie leader, Girl Scout leader, and served on the Prairie Girl Scout Council. Gladys was preceded in death by her husband of 55 years, Moses, her parents, her brothers Hilton and Wallace, her sisters Evie and Opal, and great-granddaughter Hannah Suzanne Farquhar. She is survived by her three children, nine grandchildren, and seventeen great-grandchildren. Pallbearers will be her grandsons John Triplett, Philip Triplett, Matthew Frederiksen, David Triplett, Will Triplett, and Romedy Murr. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the First Presbyterian Church Missions Fund, Louisville, MS, or French Camp. Visitation will be Friday January 4, 2019 from 9:30 to 10:45 a.m. at First Presbyterian Church, Louisville. Funeral services will follow at 11:00 a.m. at the church. Interment will be in Memorial Park Cemetery. Services are under the directions of Nowell Massey Funeral Home 724 North Columbus Avenue, Louisville, MS.
