Helen Adcock Goodin

Helen Adcock Goodin, 92, passed away surrounded by her loving family, on Saturday, November 5, 2022, at CoxHealth Medical Center South in Springfield, Missouri. Visitation will be from 5 p.m. until 7 p.m., Tuesday, November 8, at Nowell-Massey Funeral Home in Louisville, Mississippi. Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. on Wednesday, November 9, in the Nowell-Massey Funeral Home Chapel with Bro. Jason Gross and Bro. Jerry Lundy officiating. Burial will follow at Good Hope Cemetery. Helen was born in Winston County on March 4, 1930. In her earlier years, Helen worked at Macon Garment Factory. Helen transitioned to Spartus, when they opened in Louisville, and worked there until her retirement. Helen resided in the Nanih Waiya community for most of her life. Anyone who met Helen quickly realized she was a woman of strong faith and loved her family. She taught the young adult Sunday School class for many years at Good Hope Baptist Church. She had many unique talents such as cooking, crocheting, and she had a “green thumb”. Many were blessed to have received one of Helen’s famous pound cakes or any of her dishes for that matter. Helen enjoyed crocheting and few families in our community lacked one of Helen’s crocheted family names. Helen was blessed with a “green thumb” and loved and enjoyed her flowers. She loved to talk flowers and enjoyed sharing pictures of her roses. Helen was a beloved mother to one son Gerald (Delores) Goodin; grandmother to three granddaughters, Leigh Ann (Ken) McMullan, Deedra (Tate) Hanna, and Kelli (Jay) Rives; great-grandmother to seven great-grandchildren, Zach Hanna, Laura Beth Hailey, Nic Goodin, Kenny Ray Hanna, Kady Rose Hailey, T.J. Hanna, and Aubrey Claire Rives; and great-great-grandmother to one great-great-grandson, Rowdey Hanna. Helen was preceded in death by her husband, Henry C. “Jr. Boy” Goodin; her parents, E.V. Adcock and Pearl Adcock; two sisters, Dean Harper, and Mary Fleming. Serving as pallbearers Britt Goodin, Robert Goodin, Ronnie Goodin, Wayne Goodin, Rusty Hanna, Brent Horton, Chris Moody, Wayne Moody, William Moody, Tony Kemp, Clint Sloan, and Jason Warner. Memorials in memory of Helen may be given to the Good Hope Cemetery Fund, C/O Chris Moody, P. O. Box 847 Louisville, MS 39339. Services are under the direction of Nowell-Massey Funeral Home, 724 N.
